Rolin, You make an interesting distinction between xMOOCs rooted in systems theory/cybernetics/AI and cMOOCs being pedagogically driven. I’ve always assumed (because I haven’t studied it in enough depth) that the pedagogy of connectivism was also derived from the lineage of systems theory. George Siemen’s early article on connectivism certainly refers to chaos theory and network theory.
