Will order the Becker from the Library if I can.And you finished with an Eels quote. You are a LEGEND, sir.

I still think there’s something to it, not read through Freud necessarily. In a different, yet still Freud-inspired view, Becker’s “Denial of Death” is an interesting lense through which to view industrialized society and the anxiety of end times. So I’m all for putting some context around any apocalyptic talk. Yet I also like to recall that time as we know it only goes in one direction, entropy doesn’t decrease. Neither you nor I have ever not known a world in which a very few individuals had the ability to make a decision that would effectively destroy life on earth as we know it. Not many generations before ours did the notion of global-scale _anything_ really come up much. Not sure what I’m saying, really. “I don’t feel nothing now /Not even fear /Now that end times are here”

Perhaps that’s naive but it’s really the only world i can imagine living in.
